Why physics ends the free will debate is explained by Dr. Machio Kaku in this video on the Big Think site. Dr. Kaku tells us that Newtonian Mechanics gave us determinism which says the Universe runs like a clock. What you’re going to have for your dinner tonight was predetermined at the time of the […]
Quantum Mechanics
Quantum Mechanics understood correctly points directly to discovering the Universe as a Species!
“A Universe from Nothing” by Lawrence Krauss
“A Universe from Nothing” by Lawrence Krauss is Dr. Krauss’ latest incarnation [book] describing what is becoming the obvious and unavoidable conclusion of modern Quantum Mechanics that our experience of Something comes from Nothing. Dr. Kruass is an important figure in physics for taking on the crusade of promoting Quantum Mechanic’s pointing to Something from […]
The Double Slit Experiment by Eugene Khutoryansky
YouTube Channel’s Eugene Khutoryansky Explains the Double Slit Experiment Eugene Khutoryansky’s new animation does an excellent job explaining the double slit experiment which is the basis of Quantum Mechanics. Quantum Mechanics is the tool to explain the results of the double slit experiment where atomic structures display both particle and wave properties or as it’s […]
“A Universe From Nothing” by Lawrence Krauss, Richard Dawkins
Doctor Lawrence Krauss explains in this talk how we have discovered and come to our current understanding of what the universe is and where it came from. He points out the mistakes science has made in its effort to explain our existence and the existence of matter. Through the pictures that the Hubble Space telescope […]
“Consciousness as an Anomaly” by Dr. Peter Russell
Peter Russell the futurist gives us a great explanation of how to begin to understand Consciousness as a genuine anomaly like Einstein excepted light having a finite velocity as a genuine anomaly to give us Relativity.
“What the Bleep do WE Know!?” The Movie
Make sure not to miss Dr. William Tiller (at 3:48 minutes into the clip) and Dr. John Hagelin (at 8:00 minutes into the clip) pointing out that Consciousness its self can and does create entire Universes.
“Consciousness and Microtubules” by Dr. Stuart Hameroff
In order to have a conscious experience the brain has to be more than a computer. Dr. Stuart Hameroff explains consciousness as an aspect of Quantum Mechanics. Dr. Hameroff draws on the work of Dr. Roger Penrose pointing to finding a mechanism that would allow for non computability; i.e., free will. To do this Dr. Roger Penrose points to a need for a Quantum Gravity mechanism or a Quantum Computer mechanism in the brain.
Dr. Stuart Hameroff has found what is called microtubulars within neurons in the brain and nervous system as the possible location for where Quantum Computation takes place. Microtubulars seem to be small enough to incorporate super positioning making Quantum Computations possible.
Follow Dr. Stuart Hameroff on his search for understanding how and why we are conscious.
“Species Universe: Discovering the Universe as a Species” by John Zettel
Species Universe addresses the consequences of the Quantum Conundrum pointing to the equation of the observer and the observed as gaining expression in such movies as “Mindwalk” and “What The Bleep Do We Know”.
The consequence of equating the observer to the observed requires a new paradigm different than the materialistic paradigm of Western culture which emphasized materialism over the observer leaving out the reality that we are a part of the Universal experience and what that means.
In Species Universe I invite you to come and explore with me the implications of equating the observer to the observed through the act of observation and the remarkable direction it is taking us!
“Mindwalk” the Movie
Take a Mindwalk through today’s mind with me to discover our current paradigm!
A US politician (Sam Waterston) visits his poet friend (John Heard) in Mont. St. Michael, France. While walking through the medieval island discussing their philosophies of life they happen upon Sonja (Liv Ullman), a scientist in recluse, who joins in their conversation. The two men listen to the ideas of this brilliant woman and discuss how her ideas can work in their own politician and poet lives.
Mindwalk echoes the same message covered in “What the Bleep Do We Know” only it was made in 1992 and not 2005. […]
Something from Nothing by Fred Alan Wolf
“Something from Nothing” explains Physicist Fred Alan Wolf is how Quantum Mechanics is leading us to a time when the relationship between the objective physical and the subjective individual is starting to be fudged!
Quantum Mechanics is used to account for the sub atomic quantum mechanical level of life having both wave and particle properties at the same time. To do this Quantum mechanics incorporates probability statistics to describe what’s there at that level. However, being only probabilities means that it is only a field of possibilities or probabilities and not actual or physical. In other words it’s “Nothing”.
It doesn’t become actual or physical until an observer collapses the wave function of probabilities to a certainty.
Nothing becomes Something!
