There is no doubt that our lives will be intertwined with AI devices in most spheres of our lives.
When it comes to things like chess, we have seen that these devices are capable of winning against the best humans. This was definitely a challenge for designers and programmers, but even bigger challenge is making these machines collaborate successfully with humans, or even with each other.
This is the next big step in technological advancement of AI. After all, humans are not going to disappear and collaboration between mankind and machines is what we are striving for.
Key Takeaways:
- Games that rely on cognition, such as chess, are played far better by AI players than any human player.
- Where AI may lag far behind their human counterparts is in the ability to work collaboratively.
- One significant study that matched players with AI teammates, discovered that the human players found them untrustworthy and unpredictable.
“Not only were the scores no better with the AI teammate than with the rule-based agent, but humans consistently hated playing with their AI teammate.”
