Digital Afterlife?
Creating a copy of an individual’s brain to let them live on forever in a digital afterlife, is not as far off as people think. Your brain would reside in a computer, trained to give you all the pleasures you mentally enjoyed before your physical end. The challenges that have presented themselves are numerous, as the brain is made up of about a hundred billion neurons.
The connectivity of a person’s neurons is, to date, undetectable. They are unique to each person. This creates a major issue when realizing this technology. Some have specific targets, while some span over all of them creating small or large reactions within each other.
It still leaves the question of how “real” would this seem? The system itself would be so delicate to extreme catastrophes. At this point, we realize it could happen, but it was out of reach at the moment.

- Do you think there is any merit to the idea that we could upload our mind/life to a computer in order to keep us alive after death to have a digital afterlife?
