Physics is attempting to answer the mystery of what happens to us in the afterlife. It is no longer just a religious matter to which philosophers and poets write – now science is involved in the matter. This uses the metaphor of caterpillar to butterfly for comparison to our human life on Earth and the afterlife.
Dr. Christian Hellwig of Max Planck Institute explains that thoughts and consciousness correspond to the quantum world and in this day and age it is acceptable to think about and study without fear of punishment. She believes there is much more that science has not yet discovered and something incredible is to come. She refers to the experience of the death of her son has being key to her thought process on the matter of death and the afterlife.
