Schrödinger’s Cat?
Schrodinger’s cat is one of the most important studies in the history of science. It is one of the cornerstones of the study of Quantum Mechanics.
It is one of the hardest thing for people unfamiliar with science to understand when they are first presented with the problem, since it runs so counter to everything they have ever known.
The basic idea of the experiment (named after the Scientist Schrodinger,) is that a cat is placed in a locked box. Then a poison is introduced into the box. It is impossible to see what happened inside the box. Since we cannot observe whether the cat is alive or dead, we must assume that inside the box, both possibilities are true.
Therefore, the cat in the box is both alive and dead at the same time.
